![]() ![]() If `xbindkeys` can set a command (IE: this script) to only work on a click (press and release) event, not a click-and-hold event, then I think it'd be an even nicer option. For years, I've scrolled in Firefox using the middle mouse button, because it's so much smoother. Unfortunately, it'll probably suffer from the same drawback then your middle mouse button will only ever click, not click-and-hold this would be a problem in programs like Firefox which have some sort of auto-scrolling. It uses the libclipboard-perl and libx11-guitest-perl packages. So I have a friend whose mouse scroll wheel just broke, but not mechanically, its just went crazy - scrolling by itself without any input. You could actually do what `xsel` and `xdotool` are doing in PERL, which I've done here. There is no option to change the settings of the Mice scroll wheel. To change or move the functionality of scroll wheel to left or right click there are no settings. Hello everyone, I have a question thats bothering me. Does it work okay when you press and hold the middle mouse button down (IE: when scrolling)? It could be an issue if it's not specified that it's the button press which activates the commands. ![]() Ooooh, that's a good idea for a workaround, which is basically to have `xbindkeys` run an `xsel` command which clears the selection buffer before the button is pressed, then to have `xdotool` press that same button 2. ![]()
